Role Value Proposition: 

Perform the role of Sr. Project Manager for the MetLife Global Corporate Systems group. Responsible for the relationship with Corporate Real Estate and managing projects of varying sizes from small to large scale complex projects.  This role is a product owner and reports to the AVP of Application Development.  The Sr. Project Manager will need to build partnerships and coordinate resources across the various IT and business teams.   The candidate will help drive Workplace Technology, Data and Innovation strategy and manage the portfolio of projects with minimal supervision while delivering on time and on budget.  The candidate is tasked with conducting meetings, document status, support the resolution of open issues and escalate critical issues to management, including a resolution approach and the potential impact to the business.  The candidate would leverage their experience to provide guidance on the latest technology space related to Workplace and Corporate Real Estate.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Leads execution of Corp Real Estate IT projects, including building, tracking and reporting on project schedules.
    • Delivers on time and within budget based on various technology solutions that would be appropriate for our business partners.
    • Engages appropriate teams for issue resolution and escalation for the systems under the Corporate Real Estate portfolio.
    • Manages large scale, complex, cross LOB or cross enterprise application delivery projects.
    • Must have the ability to document processes, Business Requirement Documents, Project Charters, SLA’s, OLA’s, etc.
    • Assists in developing vendor statements of work, deliverables and SLAs
    • Follows approved SDLC and project management methodology, ensuring that all required steps are followed, all required deliverables are produced, and all approvals are obtained.
    • Accountable for directing work effort of staff assigned to project or program.
    • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project planning, tracking and analysis
    • Coordinates and reports on project progress and accomplishments.
    • Provides technical and analytical support and guidance to project team members.
    • Defines and manages resource requirements and allocations, monitors and improves quality, and ensures 'best practice' development and integration techniques.
  • Manages effective relationship with Corporate Real Estate, Vendors and IT Partners via delivery, financial management and expectation management
    • Works closely with client departments in development and implementation of applications to ensure technology alignment to business requirements and desired objectives for the solution are obtained
  • Prepares product and portfolio updates and presentations for leadership
  • Manages end to end Financial IT budget, including providing estimates
  • Conducts research and brings their experience on the latest vendors and trends in the space to help guide strategy

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Recent 5 years of experience in Corporate Real Estate technology
  • Accomplished change management leader, able to operate effectively in a highly matrix environment.
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of work or project management experience in a large corporate setting
  • Possess strong communication, leadership and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of project management practices:  Agile/Waterfall is a plus.
  • Experience owning or driving Corp Real Estate or Workplace Technology strategy
  • Broad technical knowledge of networking, distributed computing, hosted services
  • Experience managing 3rd party vendors, defining desired outcomes and providing leadership to ensure performance targets are met Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
