Role Value Proposition: 

This position will direct lead projects and programs in the Corporate Systems Actuarial AD team working closely with business partners and global stakeholders to define and manage the requirements and technical capabilities needed to drive Actuarial applications. The incumbent will Translate business requirements into specific technology requirements and user stories to be consumed by the development team. Interface between technology and business partner teams to ensure accurate delivery of solutions to business problems.

  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Objective Analysis: Work closely with business partners and global stakeholders to define and manage the technical capabilities required to drive actuarial applications. Brainstorm and form valuable solutions to business problems.
  • Technology and Business Liaison: Translate business requirements into specific technology requirements and user stories to be consumed by the development team. Interface between technology and business partner teams to ensure accurate delivery of solutions to business problems.
  • Requirements Management: Drive the authoring of business cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the development team to seamlessly pick up for implementation. Understand technical designs as they relate to business needs.
  • Communicate effectively with business partners to provide insight into existing applications to leverage technology  for reuse, and identify overlap of capabilities across projects.
  • Works directly with Senior management to discuss, understand, report both business and IT status and issues for Corporate Systems Projects in the Actuarial IT Department

  • Documents and integrates work stream status, tracks, and provides reporting at a tactical and executive level
  • Implements program reporting processes to keep stakeholders informed about progress and expected outcomes

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

  • Strong critical thinking skills and extensive experience on developing solutions.
  • Strong record of success Implementing large scale enterprise projects/solutions
  • Strong information technology skills, SDLC and a high level of proficiency with MS Office Suite O365, Windows 10
  • Proficient in using program management concepts, practices, processes and tools
  • Excellent relationship, communication building, facilitation and presentation skills. The position will require working collaboratively across organizations

 

Required:

  • 7+ years with software development and/or business  analysis
  • 7+ years of experience with medium-to-large technology based projects
  • 7+ years experience with MS-Office suite
  • 5+ years of project management experience

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in a related technology discipline

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a global environment with matrix organizational management

  • Communications and presentation master, with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technology groups

  • Ability to steer communications to reflect the benefits of project initiatives and gain buy in from leadership

  • Experience working with both Agile and waterfall SDLC

  • Knowledge of application architecture
