Role Value Proposition: 

MetLife is looking for an Associate Engineer responsible for research, evaluate, design, engineering, and implementation of MetLife’s enterprise integration platforms. Provides support across multiple integration technologies such as IBM Integration BUS (IIB), IBM Message Queue (IMQ), API Connect, App Connect Enterprise as well as Cloud Paks.  Engineer will also support onboarding new applications to the infrastructure. The Candidate should be highly motivated and strive contributing to the improvement, health, and automation of the technologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigation of released fix packs, automation.
  • Create automation scripts to support and elevate developer experience as well as to reduce repetitive work
  • Capacity reviews of current platform
  • Support and collaborate for future upgrades for the current technologies.
  • Create documentation related to fix packs or new technologies to share internally with other engineers, operations teams and developer teams.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 1-3 years’ work experience in IT and/or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Ability to understand application requirements for Integration technologies MQ and ACE
  • Automation mind set, able to script using bash / Powershell / Python or Java.
  • Self-motivated individual, eager to learn.
  • Good communications skills, ability to build effective partnership with peer groups, vendor staff, etc.
  • Experience at least in one automation language (bash, Perl, Python, Java, Powershell)



  • Experience building and managing Key components of fully automated tool stack
  • Knowledge on open-source technologies is a plus
  • Knowledge on modern technologies such as Cloud/Azure, Containers and Chef
  • Experience with DevOps processes and key components
  • Experience or knowledge working in Agile environment
  • 1-3 years of experience on WebSphere technologies such as MQ, IIB, API Connect.
  • Hands-on experience designing, configuring, and implementing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and automation scripts (Azure DevOps , Power shell, Perl, PowerShell, Python, Java…)
