We are looking for accomplished Data Analyst passionate to creating business impact using a vast array of data needs across different functions. This portfolio of work will deliver data driven decisions across all critical business functions such as customer engagement, distribution, underwriting, claims operations, risk management, & products. The analyst will tackle hard, open-ended problems and will have to connect dots on large disparate information.

Data Analyst is a critical role and act as backbone to an analytics life cycle, responsible for Requirement gathering, solutioning, documentation, backlog definition, data modeling, data mapping, etc. The role requires an analyst enthusiast with strong analytical expertise, very strong in SQL, data modeling, and good understanding of Big Data or cloud data technologies.

The analyst will be responsible to design approaches and build analytical solutions across various use cases.

Experience in Insurance domain and analytical background will be a major plus. The person will also mentor BSAs and Associate BSAs and review their work.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Interact and engage with local business SMEs, Operations SMEs business analysts and functional analysts in getting the requirements and implementing the ETL solutions.
  • Provide technical support to project teams throughout project lifecycle around technology platforms, solution design, security, debugging, profiling, performance tuning etc.
  • Elicit, document and manage functional requirements, data mappings, creation of ERD, data models etc.
  • Liaison between business users, the system development, consumption project teams, and quality assurance project team.
  • Manage user expectations, changes to requirements and project scope.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and modifies large scale system projects. Maintains records to document program development and revision.
  • Lead the development for varied projects. Responsible for prioritizing problems, incidents, and service requests, may lead or manage process.
  • Identifies and implements operating efficiency solutions for specific domains, may lead teams of various sizes.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 Required:

  • 5+ years of data analysis in building large scale data warehousing, Business intelligence or analytics or project experience 3 years in a corporate IT environment preferably in insurance/financial/healthcare industry working in BI Analytics domain/team
  • 3+ plus years of experience analyzing and designing solutions for cloud or big data lakes for analytics and reporting purposes
  • Proficiency and extensive experience in Data analysis
  • Solid background on writing SQLs and using other exploratory tools.
  • Extensive experience writing Functional requirements and high-level design documents.
  • Experience in writing validation scripts to validate the data, data integrations and ETL transformations.
  • Analytical skills to analyze situations and come to optimal and efficient solution based on requirements.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets
  • Eagerness to learn new technology concepts and art of possible
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills. Must be able to communicate fluently in Spanish and English both verbally and in writing.

Preferred:

  • Experience in Data Warehouse projects.
  • Experience working on Data Science projects and exposure to data science.
  • Experience in any Data Visualization tools or ETL tools is a plus.
  • Strong background or experience working in Insurance Industry.
