Role Value Proposition: 


This is a role in Global Actuarial Modeling (GAM) for the Global Systems Development Team in the Latin America Region. GAM is a part of Actuarial Resources which sits within the Finance Management Group (FMG). This role will support the Head of Global Systems Development for the GAM Team in the USA with projects requiring technical skills like data analysis, systems testing, design as they relate to actuarial models in our database systems that support financial projections via numerous actuarial models.


We are looking for an entry level finance and/or technical person to join our Global Actuarial Modeling team (GAM), in particular for the specialized Global Systems Development area (GSD) on the MIAME (MetLife Integrated Actuarial Modeling Environment) and CFDB (Cash Flow Data Base) Tool Teams.


The GAM Team is responsible for the development, maintenance, testing, production and documentation of the actuarial models used to project the cashflows necessary for different reporting bases: EEV (European Embedded Value), LDTI (Long Duration Targeted Improvements), USGAAP (United States General Account Accepted Principles) and IFRS 17 (International Financial Reporting Standards 17).


The GSD MIAME Team manages the in-house built application that manages input files, executes model runs and produces outputs for the various models globally. The GSD CFDB Team tests and supports the in-house built database application that manages database table input files and related controls for various actuarial models.


Key Responsibilities: 


  • Design, testing and maintenance of the user interface and database that stores and controls MetLife's actuarial models to allow actuarial and IT teams to meet reporting requirements for the different accounting bases (EEV, USGAAP, LDTI, IFRS17 etc.)
  • Testing of application changes in order to guarantee their quality and correct operation, and providing support to our global GAM partners and associated business units.
  • Works independently, has knowledge of financial concepts and can perform data analysis
  • Generation of supporting documentation and training that drives proper use of the system and meets our business partners requirements.
  • Improvement / automation process using tools such as VBA, Python, Access or other analysis tools in order to analyze the reasonableness and accuracy of the data.
  • Design and specify controls for the various data handoff points in the models to satisfy audit needs.



Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:




  • Student of the finance or technical career (Actuarial preferred but not required).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Intermediate level of English language
  • Profiles with coding experience (SQL, VBA, Python, SharePoint etc.) are valued.
  • High analytical skills, excellent communication, flexibility to adapt to a constantly changing environment and strategic thinking.
