Junior Associate - EMEA Regional Investments/Credit Analyst

Role Value Proposition

An opportunity for a proactive credit research analyst at Junior Associate level to join the EMEA strategy, sovereign and financials research team within MetLife Investments Limited, the London-based investments subsidiary of Metropolitan Life. MetLife Investment Management, headquartered in Whippany, New Jersey, manages $530 billion of combined managed assets, most of which are fixed income securities. In London, $30 billion is directly managed by the Public Credit Team. The Junior Associate will primarily be responsible for the management of bank counterparty risk in EMEA. The Junior Associate will also support the senior EMEA financial institutions analyst in making investment recommendations across a portfolio of EMEA banks and insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Counterparty credit analysis of a portfolio of EMEA banks.
  • Regular written credit analysis reports and presentations.
  • Support senior EMEA financial institutions analyst in making investment recommendations for a portfolio of EMEA banks and insurance companies.
  • Undertake relative value analysis, make trade recommendations and work closely with the trading desk, portfolio management team and regional business.
  • Attend company management meetings, roadshows and other similar events.
     

Required Business Experience and Technical Skills:
 

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in bank credit analysis.
  • Strong credit risk analysis skills.
  • Experience in evaluating credits and making credit/investment recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong excel skills.
     

Preferred
 

  • Fundamental value and relative value skills.
  • An understanding of rating agency methodology, financial institutions regulation and debt capital markets.
  • Chartered Financial Analysis/ACA or similar
