Role Value Proposition: 

An opportunity for an ambitious Credit research analyst at Associate level to join the Public Corporate Team within Metlife Investments (MIL).

MIL is the London-based investments subsidiary of Metropolitan Life. Metlife Investment Management, headquartered in Whippany, New Jersey, manages $530.0 billion of Combined Managed Assets, most of which are fixed income securities. In London, $30.0 billion is managed by the Public Credit Team.

The role will be primarily responsible for the credit management of investment grade obligors and focused in the UK and W. Europe. Sector coverage is likely to include the capital goods and services sectors.

    

Key Responsibilities:  

 

  • Lead analytical coverage of a portfolio of mainly Investment Grade Names.
  • Regular production and publication of written credit research reports and update notes.
  • Presentation of New Investment recommendations to Credit Committee.
  • Undertake Relative Value Analysis, make trade recommendations, and liaise closely with trading desk.
  • Attend company management meetings, roadshows, and other similar events.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Strong credit / risk analysis skills and experience in evaluating credits and making credit/investment recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed fundamental value and relative value skills.
  • Strong excel skills supporting modelling and financial forecasting.

Preferred:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in credit with Investment Grade Corporates.
  • Previous lead analyst responsibility preferred.
  • An understanding of credit ratings, rating agency metrics, and methodologies.
