Job Location: Hybrid, Brighton office two days per week, remaining three wherever you like within the UK

You’ll be joining a business that is expanding, cares about the community and the environment. Role Value Proposition: 

 

The UK Software Development Lead will design, develop and implement solutions, based on a set of standards and processes which establish consistency across the enterprise data, reduce risk, and promote efficiencies in support of the organization’s goals and objectives.

 

The UK Software Development Lead will act as a servant leader for multiple development projects and support services. The UK Software Development Lead will facilitate the adoption, implementation and sustainability of Agile and DevOps processes, principles, and practices in an inclusive way.

    

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Participate in the collection and documentation of user requirements as well as the development of user stories and estimates
  • Participates in technical design, development, implementation and maintenance of application systems. Responsible for front or backend development, with an understanding of both.
  • Participate in peer reviews of solution designs and related code
  • Work closely with Architecture team on Solution Architecture Design and provide technical and design guidance on a day-to-day basis to their Agile Delivery Model teams.
  • Work in close collaboration with offshore and local teams
  • Participates in the investigation and resolution of production management incidents, problems, and service requests.
  • Identifies innovative solutions to technical challenges
  • Motivate and develop staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.

Required:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years' experience in a similar role
  • 5+ years of related work experience with a focus on .Net applications, solid database design skills in relational databases such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle or DB2 and solid experience with SQL and creation of DB objects including stored procedures, views, triggers etc.
  • Working knowledge of Agile development methods/techniques
  • Best practice application maintenance and support policies
  • A security orientated mindset for software development

Preferred:

  • Experience working in an Agile environment with Engineering scrum teams is an added advantage.
  • SAFe certified or other Scaled Agile frameworks: Scrum Alliance CSM or CSP certification, PMI’s Agile Certified Professional (ACP) 
  • Ability to work with applicable collaboration tools that drive an end-to-end delivery of product through persistent teams. 
  • Experience in tools such as Visual Studio, TFS, Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, Jenkins
  • Experience in developing and consuming both windows and RESTful services.
