Job Location:   Brighton; during training office based, thereafter hybrid working one day a month in the office

You’ll be joining a business that is expanding, cares about the community and the environment. You will get a 9% pension as standard, increasing to 13% company max contribution (plus your 4% = a 17% pension). Role Value Proposition: 

 

This trainee Underwriter role is ideal for a gifted math mind professional who has a solid data entry foundation that they can bring with them, couple with some customer service experience to be built on. This permanent trainee role will focus on providing quotations and administrative support to Pricing Underwriters within the Employee Benefits division. The trainee will be providing the initial analysis of requests for pricing from our customers, before passing their findings to the Underwriters.

 

This is a great position for someone who has a keen eye for detail and would like to develop into an Underwriter within MetLife and work closely with Sales and our Operations Team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Day to day preparation and processing of quotations, proactively managing the work volumes of these to stay within service level agreements.
  • Interpret information from customer requests and apply them to our standard procedures.
  • Providing administrative support to Underwriters and answering queries for customers over the telephone and by email.
  • Liaising with other internal departments within Sales & Operations as and when required.
  • Completion of other, similar processes to support the overall team delivery

 

Essential Business Experience and technical skills

 

Required:

  • An excellent eye for detail with high accuracy levels
  • Strong organisational skills with
  • Good communicator both in writing and verbally, comfortable in contacting customers over the phone.
  • Strong educational grade for English and Mathematics
  • Team Player with at least three years’ experience within the financial services industry

 

Preferred:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Keen to learn and proactively develop themselves.
  • Enthusiastic and flexible.
