Actuarial Consultant - UK Product
Job location: Hybrid; Brighton (at least two days in the Brighton office)

You’ll be joining a business that is expanding, cares about the community and the environment. You will get a 9% pension as standard, increasing to 13% company max contribution (plus your 4% = a 17% pension). Role Value Proposition:
This role involves:
- Ownership and review of spreadsheet and modelling calculations in the actuarial pricing team
- Provide technical expertise and consultation on modelling problems
- Working closely with the Head of Pricing and Head of Product to deliver satisfactory outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Modelling and reporting
- Review actuarial and underwriting assumptions in pricing models
- Monitor experience in our existing book, optimize value
- Engagement with stakeholders across Global Risk Management, EMEA and the UK to achieve success
- Contribute to the Product Development Process
- Lead experience analyses and assumptions setting, market research and pricing analyses
- Manage and complete numerical components of product approval documentation in conjunction with stakeholders
- BAU Activities
- Work closely with other members of the Product team to support ongoing product management and monitoring, and reporting responsibilities
- Collaborate with other functions in the business
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science
- Very strong technical background with MS Office, especially Excel VBA
- The successful candidate must:
- Have a strong commercial and strategic mindset
- Experience in the UK protection market
- Pay attention to detail
- Take ownership and personal responsibility for delivering timely, high-quality work.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills
- Have good communication skills with the ability to interact with different stakeholders.
- Be able to source and collate data, draw conclusions and present findings.
- Learn quickly from experience
- Ability to work under pressure
Preferred:
- Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
- Experience with Python, Alteryx, SQL, Access, and other quantitative software packages
