Role Value Proposition: 

US Group Benefits Marketing is responsible for all Marketing the Group Benefits (GB) products and campaigns across all Markets Segments.  This includes working with the Re-enrollment Strategy team, Voluntary Communications Specialists (VCS), Product Center of Excellence, Distribution Leaders, Market Heads, Product/Pricing heads, Brokers and Employers to develop effective employee/employer value propositions and strategies for each product, growth initiative and market segment. Marketing will create strategies to drive profitable revenue growth by achieving participation and retention rates outlined in the business plan. Considerations must include economics of approaches, competitive environment, and employer perspectives on enrollment.

    

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Business and Customer Delivery Experience – the incumbent will develop a keen understanding of all MetLife products, B2B and B2C communications, campaigns and strategies. They will collaborate with business partners, marketing partners, customers, brokers and other stakeholders to develop and execute, customer specific, employee focused communications.  They will do this by:

  • Demonstrating a clear passion for the category and a willingness to be fully immersed in the details of the MetLife products, business goals, communications, campaigns, research, insights, data and each customer’s business challenge
  • Gaining a deep understanding of MetLife’s target customers (Employees, Employers, Brokers, Third Parties) in order to better engage and drive solutions

 

Collaboration and Influence the incumbent will work closely with various internal business teams, marketing support teams and numerous peers to help define, deliver and execute the business strategies. They will operate in a highly matrixed environment and succeed by:

  • Building strong working relationships with numerous partners at all levels of the organization, including Sales, VCS, Implementation, Sales Support, Account Teams and internal subject matter experts to identify and execute marketing communications and campaigns to drive engagement
  • Proactively provide feedback to and work with the Insight, Analytics, Product Marketing, and Product Team to drive optimization and refine tactics
  • Demonstrating a deep subject-matter and disciplinary competency
  • Having the ability to offer well-structured, well-supported and clearly articulated points-of-view while met with skepticism, disbelief and/or opposition
  • Supporting and assisting in the refinement of value propositions that differentiate MetLife in the market with brokers, employers and employees
  • Influencing and defining integrated marketing plans that will help grow the business through marketing deliverables/capabilities

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 5+ years of diverse and progressive marketing experience – an accomplished Marketer that has a breadth of relevant campaign delivery and marketing experience
  • Ability to advise on B2C and B2B channels, with a customer mindset
  • Experience leading data-based decision making and distilling into clearly concise stories
  • Experience navigating, influencing, and leading within a highly matrixed environment
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
