Senior Manager, Marketing Insights & User Experience

Role Overview:

As a Senior Manager, Marketing Insights & User Experience you will have the opportunity to play a critical role in helping the Group Benefits businesses drive growth and differentiation based on a comprehensive understanding of customer, product and marketplace dynamics. Your role will have responsibility for developing key actionable insights that are relevant to marketing and that also influence and advance broader strategies/planning to enable growth.  Specifically, you will work with your manager to support the small market customer marketing and broker teams.  You will also collaborate to build out a US Digital UX research and insights capability, partnering closely with the Global Marketing and the Experience Design team. This role will also have responsibility for the maintenance of the broker/employer panel and employee panel that we utilize for research across the businesses. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the relationship with key internal stakeholders (Group Benefits Small Market Customer Marketing Team)

  • Work closely with our experience design and business teams to uncover insights and drive engagement strategies and feature priorities

  • Proactively identify and recommend a research agenda based on a solid understanding of business goals and current knowledge gaps

  • Play a leadership role in maintaining and utilizing employee, employer and broker panels

  • Develop key actionable insights from commissioned research, work through implications and formulate business recommendations

  • Maintain a stable knowledge base of the industry, competitive landscape and regulatory environment, keeping abreast of trends and best practices that give the business a competitive edge

  • Partner with research suppliers. Ensure commissioned work meets the business’ needs and MetLife’s market research standards. Develop strategic partnerships to extract additional value for MetLife

  • Write presentations/reports and disseminate/socialize key findings across key business partners/stakeholders, influencing to ensure findings/recommendations are actioned to impact business outcomes


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Minimum of five to seven years of marketing research experience

  • User experience research/usability testing experience

  • Clear, succinct written and oral communication

  • Demonstrated ability asking scoping questions to identify business partner needs and active listening to understand the problems from the client's perspective; not afraid to challenge the status quo

  • Excellent analytic skills and ability to translate data and learnings into actionable recommendations for business growth

  • Driven to learn, grow and stretch as a member of an evolving Insights team and Marketing organization

  • Team player with experience interacting with different functional areas and personality styles

  • Resourceful, strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, excellent written and verbal communications skills - must be able to communicate effectively with functionally and geographically diverse teams
