This position will report to the Director of Global Advanced Analytics CoE team at MetLife and is expected to deliver a variety of complex data driven application and business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies to support global audit engagements.

Key Responsibilities:  

 

Create innovative and impactful solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Internal Audit team in support of MetLife’s strategy. Build customer-facing, front-end applications, and data visualizations to drive end user action and decision-making.

 

Automate data processes integrating a variety of tools and technologies across the environment. Quickly design and explain solutions to business stakeholders, collecting feedback, and iterating through the development lifecycle. Exemplify excellent consulting and technical skills, as well as the ability to work with both high-level business leaders and technical subject matter experts.

 

  1. App & Automation development 
  • Lead and participate in end-to-end process of solution design, development, and deployment of “automated tools” tailored to various audit use-cases across a variety of domains like Operations, Investments, Sales & Distributions, Finance and Compliance.
  • Lead technical design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications on existing technology platforms.
  • Engineer end to end data solutions, assisting with the creation of architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems/platforms.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement by monitoring the operating efficiency and effectiveness of existing applications.

 

  1. Data Visualization & Business Intelligence development
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of business analytics dashboards
  • Create compelling data visuals to tell the story and effectively communicate analysis results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Connect to various data sources and transform data as required to meet business intelligence objectives: converting raw data into meaningful analysis to create interactive, easy-to-understand dashboards and reports

 

        3.Communication 

  • Proactively and effectively communicate project status and challenges to team members and key stakeholders to minimize surprises.
  • Ask probing questions to understand audit goals and how the application or visualization end-results will be used. Surface implicit assumptions by the business user. Agree on end-deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the technology team and participate in technical discussions steered towards the evolving Internal Audit analytics environment to meet growth requirements for scaling, reliability, performance, and security.

 

Experiences, Skills & Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ yrs App Development Experience.
  • 2+ yrs of experience using Microsoft Power App and Power Automate.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, or other related discipline.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD, or MBA).
  • 3+ yrs of experience in HTML coding.
  • Ability to design enterprise business automation solutions using a combination of technology and tools 
  • Experience with Power BI Dashboards.
  • Certifications in Microsoft Power App and/or Power Automate.
  • Prior experience of building customer facing products including applications and visual dashboards
  • Blend of analytical skills, process expertise, project management, and ability to build strong relationships in a cross-functional environment.
  • Data Warehouse, workflows, APIs, and relationship models
  • Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non­technical audience.

 

Technical Understanding: 

  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform technology: Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI development software and Azure database/data storage technologies, Azure Data Factory
  • IT infrastructure domains, network / gateway, server utilization, virtual environments, storage, application development, end-user services and relational database concepts
  • Data Warehouse, workflows, APIs, and relationship models
  • Strong experience with relational Databases, including SQL Server, and data modeling
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Strong experience in DAX queries using Power BI desktop
  • Ability to handle large datasets using SQL, R, Python, or another similar programming language
  • Experience using SQL queries, experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

The wage range for this position specific to Colorado is $70,400/year to $93,800/year.  The role is eligible for incentive compensation under the MetLife Annual Variable Incentive Plan ("AVIP").  Your eligibility for and award of incentives are governed by the terms of the plan.
