Role Value Proposition: 

MetLife Life and Disability and Absence Products is seeking a Product Consultant II for a full-time position.

The Life and Disability and Absence team develops and manages group benefit products and services for our customers and their employees in alignment with Group Benefits’ growth initiatives in the small business, regional market and national accounts segments. We communicate enhancements and changes to our products and services throughout the organization.

The successful candidate will support communications for the Group Life and Disability and Absence Product team, partnering across product, marketing, legal, sales and service organizations to deliver products and services that give MetLife a competitive advantage. 


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Quickly become versed on relevant legal requirements, systems, and processes
  • Manage internal sales materials and customer education materials including: working with SMEs to obtain updates, submit materials to legal system for new legal number, update the design if needed, manage gold copies, post to content management system
  • Coordinate with the marketing team for marketing collateral review with the product SMEs
  • Copywriting and editing of materials, as required
  • Proactively make recommendations to enhance collateral management processes and productivity
  • Support design work as needed with InDesign
  • Work with marketing and creative agency for special design projects and other product-related field communication needs


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Strong attention to detail with project management experience
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Proactive self-starter with ability to make/contribute to recommendations, prioritize, manage and track multiple projects
  • Robust experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and adaptability to learn new software as needed
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills


  • InDesign experience
  • 3+ years of relevant business experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related discipline
  • Basic Photoshop experience
  • Solid understanding of communications, including proven copywriting

The wage range for this position specific to Colorado is 59,600 to 79,400. The role is eligible for incentive compensation under the MetLife Annual Variable Incentive Plan ("AVIP").  Your eligibility for and award of incentives are governed by the terms of the plan.
