Role Value Proposition: 

 

This HRBP role is the key partner for the Chief Auditor and Chief Compliance Officer for MetLife and leads global Human Resources for those functions.  The incumbent is a critical enabler of strategy, expected to create and implement comprehensive, forward-thinking talent plans that mobilize the business agenda while mitigating talent risk. This is done through developing business-specific talent strategies that align with the organization’s goals and direction, and taking responsibility for critical talent activities such as succession planning and pipelining. Whilst aligned to specific businesses or functions, the Senior HRBP must think holistically and work across the organization to align the tools, resources, and people needed to deliver the talent strategy. They are managers of talent risk: they are thoughtful about the organization’s most pressing needs, they maintain a future-focused view of the capabilities needed to deliver against goals, and they make it a priority to be intimately familiar with talent in critical roles, key leaders, and high-potential talent. As HR’s ambassadors, MetLife’s Senior HRBPs have a high degree of accountability for modeling effective leadership and embracing MetLife’s values. They embrace inclusivity and champion diversity, and they coach leaders throughout the organization on effective leadership practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide credible strategic advice to the leaders they support with targeted and business-oriented solutions
  • Leverage business insight and deep talent expertise to create impactful talent strategies that boost workforce and business performance
  • Take responsibility for critical talent risk mitigation activities such as succession planning and talent reviews
  • Build relationships and partnerships across teams and organizational boundaries to mobilize talent initiatives
  • Lead transformation initiatives by developing strategic organizational design, change acceleration, communication and workforce development plans, in alignment with business/function/enterprise strategic goals
  • Integrate DEI and employee culture strategies into talent solutions tailored to the business
  • Work with Total Rewards to align compensation with workforce plans
  • Coach leaders on forward-thinking leadership practices and provide strategic advice on talent decisions and resourcing
  • Take accountability for labor strategy and negotiations where needed  
  • Lead and coach team of HR Partners (direct or indirect reports)

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • 5 years progressive HR experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of all disciplines in HR and experience collaborating across HR to solve business problems
  • Experience driving change or transformation efforts including supporting leader communications
  • Experience developing / coaching leaders
  • Adaptable and agile; an agent of change
  • Strong relationship orientation, valuing diverse perspectives
  • Motivated by collaboration and the opportunity to work with others towards a common goal
  • Leveraging data and insights to develop impactful solutions

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Relevant HR certification or training
  • Experience developing and implementing business-oriented talent strategies
  • Excellent working knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations
  • Experience with compensation programs
  • Determined to influence the growth and success of MetLife
  • Driven to taken on tough challenges and creatively solve problems
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to deliver simple and focused plans
  • Global mindset
