Role Value Proposition


This role is responsible for leading the  strategy, planning and execution of user acceptance, regression, and end to end testing in support of software development programs across the RIS businesses. The Director is responsible for testing, quality assurance and deployment validation for program implementations and internal development/enhancements. This role  should be well versed in and utilize automated testing tools to identify & document product issues or defects using JIRA or other industry standard tools..  This role is responsible for the leadership and continued development of   direct team members  and an internal/external cross functional team to execute upon strategic plans for driving positive changes for RIS business and customers. This includes ensuring that the team is using industry standard practices, establishing metrics and KPI(s) and developing new tools or processes to  ensure the quality goals are met.  This role will be the key point of contact for all aspects of  the release providing regular health and quality  briefings for the internal teams, vendors , management and senior leaders.

The director will lead the team and provide guidance and instruction to maintain the highest level of quality in the deliverable through continuous testing of functionality/usability and review of visual elements and validation during critical stages of design, development, deployment and operational readiness project phases.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the strategy and manage the execution of the RIS Business  testing/QA program through various stages of development
  • Strong experience in understanding business requirements, specifications, and technical design documents and their translation into test strategy, plan and scenarios.
  • Lead and work with a team of analysts and consultants to successfully execute business/test strategies and deployment
  • Identify testing requirements from internal stakeholders and provide testing parameters to external testing partners
  • Setup and conduct scenario-based testing initiatives
  • Validation of test findings (exploitability and remediation) and of potential ambiguities and defects
  • Conduct qualitative review of external partner reports to ensure they meet MetLife’s standards for acceptance.
  • Leading the  teams’ efforts in remediating or mitigating identified issues.
  • Use data and KPI (s) to provide meaningful status updates to management and senior leadership
  • Implement test management and improvement tracking methodologies to continuously evolve testing program

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge and Expertise in RIS Business products, processes,  and capabilities or applicable experience within the retirement landscape
  • 10 years of experience working as a leader of Software Testing/Quality Assurance
  • 4 years of experience leading testing/QA team automation efforts
  • 4 years of working through Agile development methodologies CI/CD testing
  • Prior experience in management tools such as JIRA and various testing and automation tools
  • Solid understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, Json and REST API(s)
  • Experience leading initiatives in a multi-platform/capability  environments
  • Strong ability to communicate to stakeholders with various levels of expertise
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills and relationship management experience
