Global Technology & Operations (GTO) includes over 17,000 associates across 42 countries Service our customers in operations and global customer call centers where we deliver global support services, including global real estate, global corporate security, and global innovation.  This role for the STD Claims Specialist will provide exemplary customer service by processing group short term disability income insurance claims in a timely and accurate fashion

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Follow established claim policies and practices to resolve claims and issues and make determinations.
  • Identify and obtain missing information and input into system.
  • Respond to inquiries, handle outbound calls needed, handle customer escalations.
  • Manages an assigned caseload of minimally complex claims.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • High School diploma
  • 2+ years’ relevant business experience. 

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years’ relevant business experience. 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Basic knowledge of STD, LTD, group disability, workers compensation, ERISA, social security, and state laws. Moderate customer focus and management.
  • 2 years of disability claims experience.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking in activities requiring analysis, investigation, and/or planning.
  • Strong customer satisfaction focus.
