Role Value Proposition: 

The Senior Accountant will play an integral role in the Finance Department and will assist the Accounting Manager in monthly close of the books of Versant Health, as well as financial statement analyses. This role will be responsible for preparing accurate financial analysis, account reconciliations and journal entries monthly while meeting all financial deadlines.   This role will assist with deliverables for interim and annual audits, as well as statutory filings and tax provisions

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare analyses of operating expense accounts
  • Prepare accounts receivable aging analyses and reserve calculations
  • Assist with quarterly & annual audits including preparation of supporting documentation.
  • Record monthly claims entries and analyze reasonableness of suspense accounts.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • 3-5 years of experience in public or private setting with exposure to month-end & year-end closings, account reconciliations, journal entries and general ledger analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.  CPA / CPA track preferred.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and be able to apply standards.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
  • Must be detail oriented and willing to research transactions to understand account activity, identify issues and bring to management for discussion.
