This role is for the Solution Train Engineer (STE) of the Disability Claims Agile Release Train (ART) within the U.S. Group Benefits, Disability & Sense Solution 

 

The STE guides the Agile Release Train (ART) to manage and optimize the ­flow of value for its customers. This role is at the ART level and provides coaching, facilitation, and risk management across the team of teams within the ART (typically 50 – 125 people). The STE ensures the cars on the train, its cargo (e.g., people and features), and tracks are all ready to safely operate at speed. This role is a natural progression for current scrum leads and program managers.

 

Key focus includes improving execution processes, getting rid of impediments, challenging people, and teams to consistently improve, and creating connections between people. This role is a natural progression for current scrum leads and program managers.

 

   

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Coach members of the ART team members to improve
  • Guide and facilitate PI planning preparations and other PI events
  • Hold ART syncs
  • Facilitate workshops
  • Help enable teams to resolve ART impediments
  • Enable the ART to improve by using lean/agile methodologies, principles, and practices

Required:

  • 5+ years of Eligibility/UIS Business or IT Experience
  • Understanding of US Group Benefits Business and System Landscape
  • Agile Experience and knowledge
  • Agile certification is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Group Insurance distribution landscape including General Agents, Brokers, Third Party Entities and Third-Party Administrators
  • Familiar and comfortable working in fast paced agile models with ability to manage in ambiguity
  • Ability to develop strategic & trusted partnerships with internal & external partners
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate teams
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong collaboration skills, ability to partner across the enterprise.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation & communication skills
  • Strong analytic skills and ability to think strategically
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred

 

 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge or experience in the Disability Product/Business preferred

The wage range for applicants for this position is 105K-140K.  This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives.
