Responsible for providing exemplary customer service by processing group short term disability income insurance claims in a timely and accurate fashion.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages, plans, organizes, and controls team of claims professionals to ensure effective, efficient, profitable operation.
  • Accountable for the creation of the infrastructure, workflow, and culture that fosters data accuracy and documentation, leverages information to provide future vision, responsible for financial accuracy.
  • Manages team of claim specialists responsible for all inquiries, provides technical expertise to investigate and settle claims not resolvable by direct reports.
  • Responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing assigned claim and clinical teams, through unit leaders and associates.
  • Builds and manages effective partnerships with internal and external customers, fosters an environment that supports effective teamwork and cross-functional cooperation.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • High school diploma
  • 5 year of claims experience
  • 3 years of People Management Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Expert knowledge of STD, LTD, group disability, workers compensation, ERISA, social security, and state laws.
  • Advanced customer focus and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of multiple systems and technology resources
