Role Value Proposition: 

The Account Manager Consultant participates in client facing activities to resolve customer issues and concerns in an expedient manner and with a perceived effortless experience on the customer’s part.  Work closely with the Senior Affinity Consultant and other internal partners to contribute to the long term persistency and profitability of the Affinity & Member Benefits business. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a large block of business with the greatest degree of complexity.
  • Able to address complex issues independently.  Ensures customer issues are resolved in one call or contact where possible or refer customer issue to appropriate party for swift issue resolution.  Conduct appropriate follow through on all customer issues and inquiries.
  • Think outside the box and finds creative solutions to difficult problems.
  • Escalate issues when necessary while maintaining accountability to ensure appropriate follow through and resolution.  
  • Serves as a liaison between customer and other areas of MetLife (e.g. claims, contracts, commissions).
  • Work as a team with Senior Affinity Consultant, sales, marketing, underwriting, eligibility and claims.
  • Proactively meets with customer face to face
  • Apply/Post Premium
  • Conducts bill audits and runs D&U reports
  • Conduct highly complex reconciliation issues. 
  • Process Sold Notice Renewals
  • Participates in special projects and training as assigned or required


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 2-3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Understanding of group benefits (life, dental, disability) is required.
  • Prior expertise in the insurance industry (sales, underwriting, operations). 



  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Group Regional Market Administrative Systems
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the Service team
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining commitment to accuracy and quality work
