As a Regional Markets Account Executive, you’ll play a critical role in supporting MetLife’s growth. This team provides global benefits, sales, and solutions to U.S.-based employers with fewer than 5,000 employees—and with over 15,000 customers, it generates approximately $1.1 billion in annual sales and $4+ billion in revenue. Industry-wide, this $52 billion market typically grows 3-4%—but thanks to our exceptional team, MetLife consistently achieves 6-7% growth.

 

You’ll help us maintain this momentum, working closely with advisors to small and regional businesses who want to expand their employee benefits. At the same time, you’ll work collaboratively with various other departments, allowing you to explore new career possibilities and develop new strengths.

   

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • 6 months' experience in sales or MetLife internal sales training program required.
  • Experience in sales and/or after-sales service—with a proven track record of success
  • Valid Life & Health and Property & Casualty licenses, or the ability to obtain within six months of hire
  • Stellar customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills—including public speaking, negotiating, influencing, and networking savvy
  • Finely tuned listening skills, complemented by a masterful talent for solving problems
  • Strategic and creative thinking skills
  • Keen financial acumen and attention to detail, particularly concerning product earnings
  • Motivated, independent, and adaptable working style, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced situations that require multitasking and prioritization
  • Accomplished change management leader, able to operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment
  • This role requires 50-60% local travel to engage with brokers and clients face-to-face.

 

Preferred:

  • 3+ years' experience in sales preferred
  • Bachelors or equivalent
