The Role:

 

The AVP of Global Identity and Access Management will be responsible for ensuring internal and external access systems and applications meet security requirements that help ensure MetLife maintains security to protect its employees and customers. 

 

The AVP of Global Identity and Access Management is responsible for the design, engineering, implementation of Global Identify and Access Management (IAM), that includes Web Access Management (WAM) Single Sign-On (SSO) services, and both Partner and Client Federation Identity Management (FIM) Services.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

The role will:

•             Create, maintain, and execute on a comprehensive enterprise IAM strategy.

•             Demonstrate excellent knowledge of information, identity, access, cyber security, and technology risk concepts, with a strong ability to articulate those risks in business terms.

•             Solution designs for both Enterprise and project levels

•             Ensure all Identity technologies are designed, built, and executed in accordance with leading practices

•             Sustain Platform Currency

•             Industry reviews, product selection, and technology standards

•             Implementation and configuration

•             Control enhancements

  • Contribute to Audit requirements
  • Deliver monitoring and operational metrics
  • Maintain excellent relationships with vendors and partners
  • Enable teams to experiment with new concepts and ideas

 

This role will be responsible for:

 

•             Serve as the leader responsible for operations, reliability, availability, maintenance and performance of Directories, authentication protocols, and related technologies in a high-volume production environment.

•             Lead the design and development of scalable IAM platform solutions that align with cyber security strategy, accepted best practices, business requirements, policies, and Information Security standards.

•             Positively manage the team to enable, unblock, and grow individuals through coaching and technical mentoring

•             Successfully execute a sustainable, scalable, and resilient identity automation platform to ensure that our customers have access to the software, tools and data required for their role

•             Automation: Snow based SSO and federation creation and deployment

•             Modern Mobile SSO/MFA 

•             Ongoing migration of applications to internal federation

 

The rapid pace of change requires Global Security Technology (GST) to evaluate their overall strategy and current state operating model. GST must enable MetLife team’s integration to break down silos, allow rapid innovation, continuous product and value delivery and ensure security is embedded in all aspects of the infrastructure and applications.

 

 

Key Relationships:

•             Reports to VP Global Technology Security

•             Direct reports/team: 32 Direct, 35 Indirect

•             Key Stakeholders: CTO/EVPs, CISO, Regional CIOs, SVPs, VPs, Legal, Finance, Audit, Compliance, ITRS, Engineering, Operations

 

 

Candidate Qualifications:

   Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Technology.
  • Accomplished leader, able to operate effectively in a highly matrix environment.
  • Ability to identify challenges and work towards platform modernization
  • Subject Matter Expert in either Authentication or Authorization
  • Strong technical background in a variety of technologies
  • Managed Platform projects on regional scale, global is a plus
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
