Summary

MetLife is seeking a Senior Technology Liaison to join our Group Benefits, Sales, Compensation and Underwriting Agile Release Train as part of the Compensation team. This role will have significant interactions with business partners, vendors and technology teams. In this role, you will be responsible for multiple activities related to applying and enhancing the SAFe Agile framework.  This includes participating in Agile teams, conducting analysis and documenting business processes / Standard Operating Procedures, and assisting with preparation of User Stories, Test Cases and Acceptance Criteria, among others. You will also work closely with team members, Product Owners, Scrum Leaders, Release Train Engineers and stakeholders to support Sprint and Release Planning, including Program Increment (PI) planning sessions, daily huddles and key Agile ceremonies.

 

The Senior Technology Liaison is responsible for driving and supporting the technology requests relating to the Group Broker and Sales Compensation team. Qualified candidates should be able to analyze business needs and partner with various stakeholders.  Position offers opportunity to join team with diverse responsibilities that support the applications and systems used to administer our portfolio of group insurance products.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to manage multiple assignments, be organized and efficient while working under minimal supervision
  • Partners closely with the Product Team to evaluate the existing solutions as well as participate in the creative process for future new product/process development initiatives
  • Uses Agile methodology to execute on compensation activities for reporting and configuration requests
  • Responsible for designing, developing and publishing various reports (leveraging Cognos)
  • Building of compensation plans within the compensation application
  • Lead initiatives and suggest process improvements in workflow
  • Manage expectations with partners and ensure timely delivery of all artifacts required
  • Assist in quality control across team
  • The right candidate must have the mental flexibility to pivot as business needs change & strategic priorities and projects are realigned
  • Participate in scrum teams in moderate complexity workstreams, including preparation of User Stories, Test Cases and Acceptance Criteria
  • Participate in daily standups, iteration reviews and iteration planning ceremonies to ensure full team engagement.
  • Aware of and adhere to audit/compliance requirements for execution
  • Contribute to and oversee the successful implementation of all Operational Readiness phases of the process including preparation of communication plan, process documentation, training material, test plans and value-stream mapping
  • Escalate issues and propose solutions in a timely fashion

 

 

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Proficient use of MS Office (Excel, Access, Word) and Business Intelligence Tools (Cognos)
  • Ability to conduct detailed, data driven analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and demonstrate initiative
  • Intermediate presentation, influencing, facilitation and relationship management skills.
  • Comfortable discussing business functions, operations, strategies, and objectives.
  • Moderate decision-making abilities.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Alteryx application
  • Java, SQL
  • Related experience as an Agile project team member with strong knowledge of Agile principles, concepts, and methodology.
  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment – including implementation and roll out through Operational Readiness.
  • Experience with agile tools (Azure DevOps, TargetProcess).

The wage range for applicants for this position is $73,500-98K. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off.
