Within GBM, the Global Brand Design team (GBD) aims to evolve the MetLife brand and to deliver best-in-class customer experience. Within the team are two pillars, Progression that includes roles focused on Evolution and Systems, and Foundation that includes Production and Review, work together to create, execute and support these efforts.


The Production Director of Brand Design, Production will lead the team responsible for the management of operational and creative initiatives across functions within Global Brand Design. The role will partner closely with key stakeholders across GBM ensuring best practices are instituted and upheld within CXD, regionally, locally and with our Business partners. The role will also be responsible for leading, maintaining and nurturing relationships with external vendors and building a best-in-class roster of creative talent and producers.


Key Responsibilities:    

  • Talent Evaluation and Team Structure: Constantly evaluating and building talent, agency and production partners to ensure best-in-class design execution and implementation. This will include organizing team structures and workflow, retention and growth opportunities, roster building/cultivation and attracting/acquiring talent globally.
  • Cross Departmental Integration: Partnering with key stakeholders outside of CXD to foster healthy and productive working relationships, processes and engagement to ensure all GBD initiatives are set up for maximum impact from intake to delivery. This will include ongoing engagement success evaluation and refinement.
  • Agency & Partner Management: Partnering closely with agency partners to optimize creative performance, execution and delivery while maintaining budgets and financial goals. This will include evaluating scopes, working closely with MetLife Procurement, and defining/refining agency goals, intake and briefs.
  • Internal Workflow Management: Managing big bet initiatives across the department and ensure they are being executed at the highest standard, globally. Ongoing oversight and management of internal projects, owning project plans/execution schedules and managing global budgets.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience working in marketing, agency and/or brand-side, spanning digital, motion and print production.
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate the MetLife brand.
  • Ability to strategize, implement, codify and socialize new processes and working methods to establish design brand design and production as a discipline at MetLife.
  • Understanding of the creative process, production and knowing the complexities of upholding the brand design system while constantly evolving the brand.
  • Appreciation and knowledge of Design, Typography, Photography and Illustration
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build a cohesive team, influence others and maintain positive, productive relationships with clients, and colleagues.
  • Expert knowledge of the benefits of various communications and production channels, with the ability to match the channel with the communication need.
  • Superb organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to balance multiple responsibilities and set appropriate priorities.
  • In-depth understanding of the industry, the marketplace and MetLife business strategies and goals.
  • Understanding of traditional and new advertising/media, including digital marketing and social trends/best practices.



  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to set goals based on department and enterprise strategy and inspire others to accomplish them.
  • Marketing agency experience is a plus.
