Role Value Proposition

The Retirement & Income Solutions (RIS) Annuity business is seeking a Director – PRT Implementation, a key and highly visible leadership role within the US Pensions team, the RIS Leadership Team and the overall MetLife U.S. Business.  Reporting to the Head of Pension Risk Transfer Implementation, this role will provide leadership and drive strategic initiatives for the implementation of all Pension Risk Transfer (“PRT”) clients. The PRT business is a ~$60BN business that provides sophisticated contract solutions to corporate defined benefit pension plans that offer lifetime income options to future annuitants. MetLife is pleased to be a leading annuity provider in the PRT market.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and oversight for the client relationship of the implementation process of the Pension Risk Transfer business. 
  • Manage a team of approximately 4-8 Implementation Managers with full people management responsibilities, including hiring, terminations, promotions, performance and compensation management. 
  • Ensure the success of a new case implementation including owning client relationship, adherence to implementation timeline and timely completion of post-sale amendments
  • Create and implement a strategy for supporting current and future business needs. 
  • Represent MetLife in operations discussions with external prospects, clients, and intermediaries on both new and existing opportunities; develop customer centric solutions to their issues/problems
  • When needed, represent MetLife at industry and broker conferences for the Pensions businesses
  • Participate in client meetings to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service. 
  • Anticipate operational problems and identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Interface with internal partners such as operations, pricing, legal to ensure all client needs are met and proper handoffs are made.
  • Partner with IT to identify areas where we can make significant enhancements within the customer environment by helping to increase productivity and improve customer service. 
  • Process owner of case implementation process in assigned business area.  Develop policy and procedures for the function.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of formal leadership experience
  • Must possess strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead, develop and motivate teams. 
  • Strong analytical, oversight management and relationship management skills. 
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. 
  • Project management skills including problem solving attention to detail, analytical thinking, and decisiveness. 
  • Proven ability to manage highly complex projects with fast-moving deliverables.

Preferred:

  • 10 years in financial services industry with experience in sales, marketing or client/relationship management.
  • Technical and product knowledge of annuity products (retirees and deferreds) and the processes used to support these products is desired
  • Pension Risk Transfer experience is strongly preferred

The wage range for applicants for this position is 93,700 to 157,900. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
