Role Value Proposition: 

This position is an Individual Contributor role in MetLife’s U.S. Business Compliance organization reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer for U.S. Business.  The Compliance Consultant will be responsible for the design and execution of planned and ad-hoc Compliance related data analysis projects that will serve to report, diagnose, and predict key Compliance risks for U.S. businesses including Group Benefits, Retirement & Income Solutions, MetLife Holdings, MetLife Worldwide Benefits, and Property & Casualty.


The individual will be required to partner with Compliance and business stakeholders develop data requirements and data extraction specifications, and develop project plans to identify, extract and analyze data to facilitate Compliance-related insights and actions to help the U.S. businesses mitigation Compliance risk.  This individual will also develop the best ways to share the data in dashboards, presentations, and written reports aligned to suit the respective audience.


Key Responsibilities:

Partners with stakeholders to build and implement a data and analytics platforms for the U.S. Business Compliance organization

  • Effectively engages in and coordinate with global Compliance data analytics initiatives
  • Provides support, knowledge and data analytics expertise to the U.S. Business Compliance team and the global Compliance organization
  • Determines the most appropriate analytic approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate scenarios and potential future outcomes
  • Executes analytical projects including data exploration, model building, and performance evaluation and testing.  Identify key risks, issues and interdependencies and support the development of appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Understands compliance program risks and business controls
  • Provides technical advice on how to implement new procedures/best practices to support compliance and avoid future concerns.
  • Develops new compliance systems/tools to support large scope compliance projects.
  • Prepares reports and metrics for management.
  • May guide less experienced Compliance Analysts
  • Performs other duties as required
  • This is not a management development position



Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.  Preferred focus in Statistics, Computer Science, or other related disciplines with training in the quantitative analysis.
  • 5 – 8 years’ experience, preferably with 2 to 4 years in analytics in the financial services industry.
  • Ability to research independently and work collaboratively
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Must be highly motivated, adaptable to change, and detail oriented
  • Solid knowledge of Company operations, systems and transactions and financial products and services.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, technical and functional expertise
  • Ability to build relationships with all levels of management and to adapt communication styles appropriately for the program or audience
