Role Value Proposition:

We are looking to hire two talented Project/Programme Managers to come into newly created roles here in the Dublin office. You will join the specialized WCE Project Management team which is made up of these two Project Manager roles plus the MetLife Head of Europe PMO whom these roles will report to. This team’s remit covers 12 MetLife branches within Western and Central Europe (WCE).


In this role you will work on any large projects ongoing within MetLife Europe (Western and Central Europe (WCE)) from a Project Management perspective. You will work across countries and functions in this challenging and varied role. Individual branches tend to run their own projects but you will manage any strategic projects that are consolidated across MetLife Europe.


You will be responsible for providing project management expertise and leading a diverse set of projects as directed by the WCE Executive Management Committee. You will be required to identify project resource requirements and secure commitment from internal and external resources to ensure the timely delivery of a diverse range of projects to support the achievement of WCE strategic objectives. Additionally you will be responsible for sizeable budgets and for managing a large number of personnel (resources) on a cross functional and cross regional basis. You will also accountable for supporting the standardizing and formalising of a project management methodology across in WCE organisation.


This is a great role for a Project Manager with circa five years’ experience in a progressive Project/Programme Manager role in another multinational or insurance company. You would be joining one of the world’s largest life insurance companies in a high profile role. You will be based in a central hub here in Dublin and you will work directly with the leadership team based here and across WCE. It is a regional role and the work you do will have a real impact on the business from day one. You will gain a great understanding of how the business works and the work you do will be varied due to the number of different departments and countries you will work with. You would be joining at time where it is anticipated that there will be lots of new projects and change happening within the organisation and it is a chance for you to make a real impact here.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee high priority projects which require considerable resources and high levels of functional and regional integration
  • Independently handle assigned components of the project such as scheduling, cost management, risk management, etc.
  • Assign individual responsibilities, identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops schedule to ensure timely completion of project
  • Leverage internal relationships to gain support for assigned projects and the overall health of initiatives and the WCE Portfolio
  • Drive MetLife’s PPM process implementation including phase gates, delivery of critical project documentations such as project approval process (PAR), CEAR, etc.
  • Prepare communications regarding status of projects; interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, distributors, and vendors
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables
  • Take projects from original conception through implementation
  • Report on specific project status to senior leaders
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required
  • Positive feedback from the partners/project stakeholders and the EMC



Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • At least 5 years Project Management experience
  • Experience working in a Project Manager role in another multinational company where you gained experience managing projects across different countries outside of Ireland
  • Strong communication skills along with a proven ability to influence senior level stakeholders across different countries and functions
  • Proven ability to be adaptable and flexible in your approach in order to meet the changing demands of the business



  • Qualified Project Manager (eg PMP or PRINCE2 Certification)
  • Prior experience working in an insurance company would be advantageous
  • Full Microsoft Suite (including Microsoft Project and Power Point)
  • Experience managing projects in a variety of different functions within a company





This role may require travel within Europe as needed by a specific project or programme
