Role Value Proposition:

Performs a variety of reinsurance treaty analysis.  Codes internal reinsurance templates with the required information and manages the implementation of treaties in the system.  Develops and maintains business requirements and all other supporting project documents.  Works closely with the reinsurance administration group and treaty negotiator to ensure accuracy of the business analyses.  Translates templates into reinsurance administration system table screens.  Determines the validity of data and provides supporting explanations for the conclusions reached. Analyzes data and supports user acceptance, regression and other testing.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Works on basic to more complex reinsurance treaty analyses, assignments or projects
  • Prepares reinsurance reports by downloading information from single or multiple direct administration systems
  • Compiles databases and formulates spreadsheets
  • Conducts/coordinates research and/or participates in special reinsurance studies 
  • Develops business requirements and technical specifications, documents procedures and processes, tests transactions, and assists in system implementations as a team leader/project manager or a subject matter expert on cross-functional IT/business teams
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 5-8 years reinsurance experience, preferably in an administration or IT environment
  • TAI reinsurance administrations system knowledge a plus
  • BA/BS degree, preferably in computer science, information systems, business administration, finance or other related fields, or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Proven track record in managing multiple concurrent projects.  Ability to quickly adapt to change and reprioritize assigned tasks
  • Strong knowledge of reinsurance concepts, principles and practices.  A team player who has the collaborative skills to work within or manage project teams
  • Ability to present and communicate reinsurance data concisely and clearly with conclusions and recommendations in a manner that both financial & nonfinancial audiences can understand
  • Advanced skills in Excel & Word, knowledge of Microsoft Access a plus
