Role Value Proposition:

The Brighthouse Financial Leader of Technology Change Management Strategy will be a key role within the Technology organization, centrally managing changes to business processes and enabling technology across business and technical partners.  This role will be accountable for developing the change strategy and plans to exit Transition Service Agreements (TSAs) and for managing the execution of change (e.g., process change management, communications) with key stakeholders for both isolated functions and end-to-end processes.  This position requires a strong process-oriented leader who can effectively and efficiently build and oversee a team to support change management across ~100 future-state solution stand-ups and all up-stream and down-stream change management as we transition from our MetLife environment with ~600 applications and over 200 TSAs.

 

This position requires a deep understanding of current-state processes and platforms, as well as a keen ability to understand the implications of change as we transition from current state to a simplified future-state business and technology architecture.   Through strong partnership with the functional leaders across the company, along with a detailed working knowledge of current and future-state, this leader will manage change along our transition path to achieve desired future-state results within the Brighthouse Financial Future State Platform strategy on time and to budget.

 

Key Relationships:

  • Reports to: SVP Future State Technology Delivery Leader
  • Direct reports/team: TBD – Change Management Strategy team (may consist of direct reports, matrixed associates and / or consultants / contractors), Matrixed management across Technology and business functional owners
  • Key stakeholders: CIO, Technology Leaders (Delivery, Transformation Management Office, Infrastructure, Data & Analytics, Security and Methodology) and Brighthouse Financial Management Team across most functions (e.g., Client Solutions, Marketing / Distribution, HR, Finance)

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build framework and supporting processes for business and technology change management between MetLife and Brighthouse Financial to facilitate successful independence.  Understand process and stakeholder implications of Business and Technology TSA exits from over 200 TSAs and 500 systems, aligned with implementation of ~100 Brighthouse Financial Future State solution stand ups, business process outsourcing and insourcing.  
  • Manage change, understanding the potential impact to stakeholders and influence approach and timeline to minimize business disruption.  Develop mitigation plans to resolve issues and risks.  Ensure implementations achieve business and technology requirements, eliminating “process or technical debt” by end of implementation.
  • Analyze, develop and execute change management plans for TSA exits of business only, business and technology combined and technology only TSA exits.  Ensure plans are approved by key constituents and that resources are aligned to deliver on approach.  Incorporate capability and functional requirements, advisor and customer experience requirements, SLA levels and our primary objective to simplify our business and technology environment into the strategy and approach. 
  • Measure change impact to key constituents and proactively manage risks to minimize disruption.  Make recommendations and report performance metrics and results to senior leadership team; translating complex information and analyses to all levels, including C-suite executives.  Partner with senior leaders across the Enterprise to ensure that change management is proactively planned for and is in place to support their business and technology plans.
  • Ensure business process and technology changes achieve a simple Brighthouse Financial Business Architecture, ensuring all solutions and investments deliver only on necessary capabilities for each function.  Leverage business architecture and TSAs as guideposts to manage multi-year stand-up and transition plan, taking stakeholder perspectives into account.
  • Champion & influence stakeholders’ commitment to change management, developing a consistent framework and approach (inclusive of new procedures, processes and tools, utilizing various communication channels).

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 10-15+ years of experience in IT / Business with sound business acumen in the insurance industry and a focus on operational change management.  Business process outsourcing, operations and technology / business technology background is a plus.
  • Accomplished, process-oriented change management leader, able to operative effectively in highly matrixed environment with competing priorities.  Able to achieve results through stewardship, influence, motivation and change leadership.
  • Change management expert with strong business acumen, with ability to foresee and address potential challenges proactively and navigate accordingly
  • Ability to champion change, inspire a shared vision and promote key values.  Motivates teams and creates a collaborative and agile workplace while delivering in a demanding environment.
  • Strong leader with extensive business acumen and demonstrated sound business judgement.  Able to inspire the trust, confidence and respect of peers and other senior leaders.  Develops talent for the future.
  • Relationship management and negotiation expert.  Analytic and strategic thinker capable of influencing and partnering with senior leaders (C-suite) to take strategic direction and transform it into structured, practical, efficient and effective business processes and supporting platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree and related field experience required, Master’s degree preferred.
