Role Value Proposition:

The Leader, QMO Systems Integration will play a key role within the Technology organization, managing the complex interrelationships of a broad portfolio of 3rd party systems integrators and platforms ensuring successful deployment and ongoing support of complex designs and multi-faceted platform interoperations.   The Leader, QMO Systems Integration will facilitate stakeholders across all IT and SaaS domains to ensure integrity of systems at the overall solution level.  The lead will facilitate successful use of automated testing and Dev/Ops strategies enabling business, technology and applications across Brighthouse, MetLife, and our many SaaS providers/Systems Integrators in both agile and waterfall methods.  This role will be accountable for supporting the development and deployment of virtualization and automation strategy and plans working closely with our test execution partner, BSA and supporting teams.  This position requires a strong process-oriented, with data, systems and applications and architectural domain expertise.   This leader will need to effectively and efficiently build and oversee many matrix team members and groups to enable robust data integration testing and oversee an integrated strategy across ~100 future-state solution stand-ups and all up-stream and down-stream change management as we transition from our MetLife environment with ~600 applications and over 200 TSAs.

 

The leader will work closely with internal BHF shared service leaders to ensure the traceability of architecture, design, integration and testing ensuring scalable interoperability within all types of delivery frameworks (agile, iterative, waterfall).  This leader is responsible to build the practice and facilitate cross-domain ownership within BHF, including managing the many points of interface with MetLife and governing release operations of our many SaaS providers.  This position requires a deep understanding of key IT disciplines (architecture, BSA, data integration, Service Management, Vendor Management) and have a keen ability to work in a matrix way with technical and business leaders and stakeholders. The leader will understand the implications of governance (data, security, compliance) and can operate and deliver solutions in both tactical and strategic manners keeping an eye on meeting current needs while adhering to a long-term strategic roadmap.  

 

Key Relationships:

Reports to: Head of Quality Management Office

Direct Reports / team:  TBD – May consist of direct reports, matrixed associates and / or consultants / contractors; Matrixed management across Technology and business functional owners

Key Stakeholders:  CTO, Head of Infrastructure, Technology Leaders (Delivery, Transformation Management Office, Infrastructure, Data & Analytics, Security and Methodology), Solution Owners, Service Management leaders/teams across BHF, MetLife, and SaaS providers, business leaders and delivery teams and QMO stakeholders

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design and build framework and supporting processes for managing complex platform integrations and ensuring scalable testing and automation approaches in an operationally secure and scalable solution model.  Heavy interaction with 3rd party solution providers ensuring overall integrity of the various solutions and integrations
  • Integrate with infrastructure and TEV provider to inform and build dev/ops strategy and roadmap
  • Manage the TEV strategic roadmap across the FSP standup and all TSA exits. Understand dependencies, process and stakeholder implications of Business and Technology TSA exits from over 200 TSAs and 500 systems, aligned with implementation of ~100 Brighthouse Financial Future State solution stand ups
  • Ensure bi-directional systems integrations and data impacts (BHF and MetLife) are planned for and understood minimizing unforeseen events
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the organization continuously improving adoption and maturity of holistic service management disciplines
  • Manage change, understanding the potential impact to stakeholders and influence approach and timeline to minimize business disruption.  Develop mitigation plans to resolve issues and risks.  Ensure implementations achieve business and technology requirements

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 10-15+ years of experience in IT / Business with sound business acumen in the insurance industry and a focus on technology, application and operational change management.  Past experiences leading IT Service Management in a large enterprise organization a plus
  • Broad IT acumen including hand-on experience in BSA, architecture, data, IT roadmaps and strategic program execution.  Experience building and running a shared service function and overseeing complex data projects
  • Accomplished, process-oriented technology change management leader, able to operate effectively in highly matrixed environment with competing priorities.  Able to achieve results through stewardship, influence, motivation and change leadership
  • Change management/ Service Management expert with strong business acumen, with ability to foresee and address potential challenges proactively and navigate accordingly
  • Ability to champion change, inspire a shared vision and promote key values.  Motivates teams and creates a collaborative and agile workplace while delivering in a demanding environment
  • Strong leader with extensive business acumen and demonstrated sound business judgement.  Able to inspire the trust, confidence and respect of peers and other senior leaders.  Develops talent for the future
  • Analytic and strategic thinker capable of influencing and partnering with senior leaders across multiple business areas to accommodate business needs and translate to structured, practical, efficient and effective plans for capability deployment
  • Bachelor’s degree and related field experience required, Master’s degree preferred
