The Lead Information and Integration Domain Architect is responsible for defining the enterprise information and integration architecture that will be the basis for all of Brighthouse Financial’s solutions. This individual is responsible for defining the information and integration architecture strategies, target states, transition roadmaps and ensuring their alignment with Brighthouse Financial’s enterprise business and application architectures. Ownership for defining the principles, standards and reference patterns for data and integration will reside with this role. Finally, this individual will be responsible for guiding solution architects and ensuring that solution architectures align with the enterprise information and integration architecture.


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Translates business strategy and objectives into an enterprise information and integration architecture which supports the following capabilities:
    • Application integration
    • Data integration
    • Master data management
    • Data services and governance
    • Data management
    • Data warehouse
    • Business intelligence
    • Advanced Analytics
  • Responsible for the development, ownership and communication of the following information and integration architecture artifacts:
    • Target state architecture
      • Conceptual and logical enterprise architectures
      • Roadmaps
    • Reference architecture which includes:
      • Principles and guidelines
      • Patterns
      • Standards
  • Supports/guides solution architects by promoting best practices, using reference architectures, ensuring standardization across solution architectures and reflecting the information and integration architecture strategies in their solutions
  • As a member of the architecture review board, ensures that solution architectures are aligned with the enterprise information and integration architecture
  • Continuously researches and keeps up with latest trends, emerging technologies, new vendor products, new ways of doing things, assessing their applicability to Brighthouse Financial and incorporating them into the enterprise information and integration architecture
  • Acts as solution architect for data related projects/programs

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Experience within the insurance industry preferably life insurance and/or annuities
  • Experience using and/or extensive knowledge of various application integration technologies such as cloud integration, SaaS integration, API management, service oriented architecture and enterprise service bus
  • Experience using and/or extensive knowledge of multiple technologies in the areas of data integration, big data/HDFS, data warehousing, master data management, data quality, business intelligence and advanced analytics
  • 10+ years of experience architecting solutions
  • Ability to think strategically and apply abstract architectural concepts at an enterprise level
  • Experience using one or more formal architecture frameworks such as FEAF, TOGAF, or Zachman; certification in any of them is a plus
  • Experience working with agile methodologies and knowledge of DevOps
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey architectural concepts to business and technology peers as well as senior management
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple large, complex projects with minimal supervision
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and/or equivalent work experience, Master’s degree in Computer Science is a plus
