Role Value Proposition:

Reporting to the Director of Cybersecurity Compliance, the Cybersecurity Compliance Specialist will support the content development and advisory that will realize the future of Brighthouse’s compliance program.  The successful candidate will develop new and updated policy and procedure documentation, and will be available to advise clients across the organization regarding the compliance impact of their operations.  The Cybersecurity Compliance Specialist will also support the Director in remaining informed of new and upcoming changes in the field, including newly-passed laws and regulations, rule updates, and others that could affect the Company’s compliance posture. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

The Cybersecurity Compliance Specialist will be responsible for…

  • Development of policy and procedure documentation to support cross-regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Advising internal clients on the Cybersecurity compliance impact of potential decisions and projects
  • Monitoring regulatory information sources to keep up to date and assist in preparing for upcoming changes
  • Supporting Internal Audit review of compliance activities and documentation
  • Contribute, as a team member, to all other risk, security, and privacy initiatives and services as appropriate

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 3 years of operations and regulatory compliance experience, insurance field preferred
  • Strong communicator, creative, intelligent, self-disciplined and highly industrious.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the proven ability to analyze processes and suggest/implement continuous improvements
  • Clear understanding of network security principles and compliance regulations, including, but not limited to, NY DFS, HIPAA, GLBA and PCI DSS
  • Enjoys working in a growth oriented, entrepreneurial, high-energy environment.
  • Four-year bachelor’s degree in Information Security or a related field
  • Certification(s) preferred:  Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
