It is home to our Actuarial, Audit, Compliance, Finance, IT, Legal, Operations, Risk and Treasury Teams.

 

Role Value Proposition:  


Working closely with the Deputy Head of Actuarial Function and Head of Actuarial Function, the role supports the review of Solvency II Pillar I valuation, ORSA, and the timely submission of actuarial reports to the MetLife Europe Board and the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI).

The role is suited to an ambitious actuary with a proven track record of successfully leading both project and financial reporting work, and strong report writing and communication skills who is looking to progress into a Head of Actuarial Function role within the life sector in the medium/long term.
   
Key Responsibilities:  


•    Performing all aspects of actuarial work, including financial reporting and solvency reporting
•    Review and analysis of the quarterly reserves and capital requirements, liaising closely with the various stakeholders
•    Production of quarterly packs for management reporting and presentation of this information to the Company’s Exec and Board.
•    Engaging with Company senior management to assist them in other areas like financial risk, product distribution, and capital management
•    Analysis of the Own Risk Solvency Assessment (ORSA) projections and preparation of relevant reports.
•    Support internal and external audit, peer review, and manage regulatory interactions with the CBI.
•    Maintaining Actuarial Function documentation of key processes, procedures, and results
•    Supporting the continued enhancement of reporting processes (e.g. work with stakeholders within the organization to align on all relevant financial reporting metrics such as IFRS 17, GAAP, etc.), introducing efficiencies within the actuarial function, and increasing automation

 

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required: 


•    Strong record of success in leading an Actuarial team and meeting project and regulatory deadlines
•    Excellent report writing skills with experience preparing reports for Company Executive Committees and Board
•    A strong desire to ultimately progress to be a HoAF in the medium/long term
•    An Actuarial Qualification (preferably FIA or FSAI) with 2-3 years post qualification experience
•    Ability to work collaboratively with other teams to both build relationships and meet tight deadlines 
•    An ability and desire to communicate clearly to senior management
•    Previous experience in managing regulatory interactions with the CBI

 

Preferred:


•    Detailed knowledge of Solvency II requirements
